Birkenau

In the summer of 1943 the 17 year-old Jacek Zieliniewicz was arrested and deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau. In the spring of 1945 he survived a death march to the Reich. After his liberation, till the December of 1945, he lived in the French Occupation Zone before the return to his hometown Janowiec in Poland. In the 80′s, 40 years after his traumatic experience, he broke the silence and engaged in educational activities about the Holocaust and concentration camps all over the world. In 2015, at 70th anniversary of camp liberation he is one of very last witnesses of the history.
